Appointments

Our appointment system consists of a combination of telephone assessment, pre-bookable, book-on-day and doctor bookable only appointments. These appointments are for the doctors and nurse practitioners. They can be booked online from 6am on the day. After a telephone assessment appointment you may be offered an appointment to see the doctor. If you wish to register for our online service (which also allows patients to order their repeat medication) please speak to a member of staff at reception.

Booking an Appointment

As mentioned above, we have a combination of available appointments each day: Telephone assessment appointments are bookable online from 6am. These enable you to talk directly to either a GP or a Nurse Practitioner, who will assess your needs with you and together you will decide on the best course of action. Initially, you will speak to the receptionist who will place your call with the most suitable medical professional. When you phone please be prepared to give a brief description of the reason for your call to the receptionist so that we can ensure anyone who needs attention quickly will be dealt with in the best way. All members of staff will treat your information with complete confidentially. A doctor or nurse practitioner will phone you back as soon as possible, so please help us to contact you quickly by keeping your phone line free so you do not miss your place in the queue. The doctor may have to deal with medical emergencies so please be patient if your callback takes a little longer. After speaking to the doctor or nurse practitioner you may not need anything further or you will decide together what the next steps will be:

  • The clinician may be able to issue a prescription for you for collection or delivery
  • You may need to see a member of the practice team
  • You may be required to have some blood tests carried out before being seen by the doctor
  • You may need to see the doctor in surgery or, perhaps at home. The doctor will give you a face-to-face appointment time for that day or a routine appointment another day depending on what is best for you.

Same day appointments are released at 8am each morning.

Pre-bookable appointments are available if you wish to see a particular doctor or to make your appointment for a specific date then one of our pre-bookable appointments may enable you to plan your visit accordingly.

Extended Hours: Mondays 7.00-8.00am (alternate weeks)  and  6.30-8.30pm, Fridays 7.00-8.00am and one in four Saturday mornings. Please ask our reception staff for further details.

Test Results and Telephone Advice

You may phone for test results. The results of blood and urine tests are available from reception after seven days. It is best to phone for these results in the afternoons when it is quieter.

In some circumstances it may be appropriate for results to be discussed with one of the doctors.

Please remember that ALL members of staff will treat your information with complete confidence
